Empathy for the Empaths: Applying Grief Principles from the Professional’s Perspective

Many are drawn to work in the human service field based on the rewarding aspects of helping and serving those in our community. However, it is important to acknowledge and address the challenges and hurdles that we are presented with in order to maintain an optimal level of support. Self-care and building support systems play an important role in the grief-process as well as the sensitive work that we do. In this training, we will discuss the concepts of compassion fatigue, companioning, and basic grief principles as it applies to the working professionals so that we can increase our mindfulness and continue supporting those in need.
