April 01, 2021
Beginning April 1, 2021, Laurel House will officially offer a new, confidential Textline to victims of domestic violence and their loved ones across the county. This Textline will be available from Monday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will be monitored by certified domestic violence advocates.

On April 1st, the Textline can be accessed by texting HOPE to 85511 in order to immediately begin texting with a trauma-informed and confidential advocate. Advocates are available to help texters with resources, information, safety planning or to simply provide support during a difficult time.

Laurel House is a comprehensive domestic violence agency offering an array of supportive services to victims across Montgomery County such as emergency shelter, crisis response, counseling, and court accompaniment. Over the last year, Laurel House has seen a 27% increase in individuals reaching out to the hotline for help and support. The addition of the Textline is yet another way for victims and their loved ones to access safe and confidential supportive services during a scary and uncertain time.
